Work permit for Group Leaders coming from outside the European Economic Area
In general, people from outside the European Economic Area need a work permit to work in Iceland. However, there's an exception for group leaders accompanying tourist groups to and from Iceland. Group leaders from non-EEA countries can work in Iceland for up to 90 days without a permit, provided they are involved in short-term projects and are representing their business. The group leader's main responsibility is to accompany the group and oversee the tour guide and other local service providers. However, it's important to notify the immigration authorities before the group leader arrives in Iceland. The notification should include details about the travel agency and/or tour guide responsible for the group's activities in Iceland.
